Certified Nurse Assistant Classes
Heart to Heart Healthcare Training is approved through the State of Michigan to provide Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training. We offer several options to fit all schedules. Our course lengths vary anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks and includes day, and night classes.
WHAT IS A CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT (CNA)?
A CNA is a member of the healthcare team that provides care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The CNA or nurse aide performs assigned tasks, such as vital signs and provides or assists with routine personal care, such as bathing patients and helping with toileting. The duties of the nurse assistant include observation, reporting, recording changes in resident’s condition, personal care services, assistance with activities of daily living (ADL), assist patients in attaining and maintaining functional independence, and communicate and interacting in a sensitive manner with patients. The duties also include assisting patients to move around safely, keeping patients living areas neat and clean, encouraging patients to eat and drink, caring for supplies and equipment, helping patients dress, making beds, helping patients with mouth care, updating other team members on resident’s status, and documenting or charting.

ON AVERAGE WHAT DOES A CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT MAKE?
The median salary for a Certified Nurse Assistant in Michigan is $31,500. On average a CNA will make anywhere from $11.50/hour to $20.00/hour depending on your location. Other benefits of becoming a CNA are medical benefits, vacation/sick time, and paid holidays.

What is the cost of the CNA Program?
The total cost of the CNA class is $925. The tuition includes all books, and all needed supplies. The student is responsible for purchasing one pair of dark purple scrubs to wear to class.
How do I register for the CNA class?
To register for the Certified Nurse Assistant class we require a $300 deposit to secure your spot. At the time of registration you will be required to fill out a registration packet as well as place your deposit. The remaining balance of $625 would be due on or before the first day of class. You can register by scheduling an appointment, paying your deposit over the phone, or on our website.
What are the requirements to be accepted into your Certified Nurse Assistant class?
You must be at least 17 years of age, provide a negative TB test within the last year, and pass a background check. The background check is completed by Heart to Heart and included in the tuition.
Do you offer Financial Aid or Payment Plans?
At this time we do not offer financial aid. However, you can contact your local Michigan Works. If you qualify, they may assist you with paying for our Medical Assistant Program. We also offer two different scholarships which can be found on our Tuition and Costs Page.

How long is the Certified Nurse Assistant class?
We offer a 2-week CNA class as well as a 4-week night CNA class. Our 2-week day class runs Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.
